Background
The Motor City Nobles (aka MO-CI_NO). are a motorized unit that presently drives MIini Monster Trucks go karts, but we welcome variety. We are open to most four wheel go-karts Each member owns and maintains his own vehicle.
Requirements
Membership in the Motor City Nobles Shrine Unit is available to any member of Moslem Shrine Temple that is in good standing. New members have one year to purchase a vehicle. Under special circumstances we do allow persons to join and not have a vehicle. Please call the Director for more information. For persons not having a vehicle or have other circumstances we have a golf cart that we use in parades to allow for participation.
Cost
Our application fee for joining the Motor City Nobles is $100 which includes that year’s dues. Our annual dues are $20.00. Used vehicles can be found advertised with from low to high prices. In May of 2024 a new truck from one supplier ran around $6200 plus tax.
Probationary Period
There is a one-year probationary period. A probationary member is entitled to attend meeting, participate in all Motor City Nobles functions (including parading); can wear the word MO-CI-NO on his Fez, car or any other property pertaining to the Motor City Nobles. A Probationary member is not entitled to vote until he receives his full status as a Motor City Nobles. The probationary period will count towards ten (10) year veteran requirement.
Meetings
We meet on the second Monday of the month at 7:00 PM at the Shrine Center presently in the fishbowl.
Activities
Our unit has numerous activities throughout the year. The Motor City Nobles participate in every Moslem Shrine parade plus many more and the crowds love us. Kids of all ages at all events come and have their picture taken in our vehicles. There is so much more that we do, but space does not allow us to list them all.
