Background
The Cycle Patrol Unit is a motorized unit that rides motorcycles. The unit was chartered in 1967. You have just completed your venture into the wonderful land of Shrinedom either as a new Shriner or maybe you are a Shriner of many years. Well, in either case, the Cycle Patrol Unit would like to extend to you an invitation to join our exciting Unit.

Requirements
Membership in the Cycle Patrol is available to any member of Moslem Temple that is in good standing. The Unit rides motorcycles of any make or model 650 CC and above. These are your own personal motorcycles. It is not necessary that you have previous motorcycle riding experience; our officers will train you to be a precision drill team member.

Approximate Cost
There is a $25.00 dollar initiation fee with your petition to the Unit. Annual dues are $25.00 a year. Uniforms and putting “Cycle Patrol” on your Fez is approximately $100.00.

Probationary Period
There is a one year probationary period. Probationary members are expected to attend 70% of all meetings and parades that we participate. Any Unit Officer can excuse probationary members from attending meetings and parades for work, illness, or any other legitimate reason.

Meetings
Our Unit meets the first Monday of every month, except July and August, at 7:30 P.M. for a business meeting and fellowship in our Unit Room at the Shrine Auditorium and Conference Center. Our first practice of the year is held on the first Sunday after Easter at 9:00 AM in the Shrine Audi- torium and Conference Center parking lot.

Activities
Our main function is to perform precision drills at local parades and both National and Great Lakes Conventions. Cycle Patrol member look forward to parades and socializing afterwards. We prac- tice once a week on the drills we perform at parades. We have competed in competition at both National and Great Lakes Conventions and we have taken first place numerous times. We were one of the first motorized units to take all four first place trophies at the Great Lakes Conventions. Our Unit has great camaraderie and we socialize regularly in and outside of the Moslem Shrine Temple.
