Motor Corps Unit

Background
The Motor Corps is a motorized unit that rides Harley Davidson “Shrine Edition” Ultra Classics. The unit was chartered in 1953.

Requirements
Membership in the Motor Corps is available to any member of Moslem Temple that is in good standing. All members of the Motor Corps are required to ride identical, same model and year, white Harley Davidson “Shrine Edition” Ultra Classic motorcycles. These motorcycles are specially built and custom painted by Harley Davidson for the Shrine Motor Corps, thereby making them very rare.

Approximate Cost
There is $250.00 initiation fee to join our Corps, which includes your first year’s dues and numerous other items. Contact our Corps Direct for more details. Our annual dues are $25.00.

New members can expect to spend approximately $25,000.00 for their motorcycle, uniform, and accessories. Fortunately, since our custom Harleys Davidson motorcycles are very rare, they have a high resale value and maintain their value for many years. We also have used bikes available at huge savings that may fit your budget a little better. We realize this is a big investment for our members, but there are few things more prestigious than riding on a custom “Harley” or more impressive than riding in a parade, on the road, or at an event with numerous Motor Corps members riding in formation on matching Harley Davidson “Shrine Edition” Ultra Classic motorcycles. Be one of the few, the proud . . . the Motor Corps.

Probationary Period
There is a one year probationary period. Probationary members are expected to attend 75% of all meetings and parades that we participate. Any Corps Officer can excuse probationary members from attending meetings and parades for work, illness, or any other legitimate reason. We are very reasonable.

Meetings
From October to April our Corps meets on the third Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM for a Busi ness in our Corps Room at the Shrine Auditorium and Conference Center. From May through September our Corps meets every Wednesday in the parking lot at the Shrine Auditorium and Conference Center to practice and fine tune the various exercises and maneuvers we do in parades.

Activities
Our main function is to perform precision drills at local parades in the spring, summer, and fall. We also provide professional escorts for VIPs, weddings, funerals, and a host of other events. Our Motor Corps is an award winning precision drill team that completes in the Great Lakes Association of Shrine Motor Corps, which includes Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Canada. Our Corps has great camaraderie and we socialize regularly in and outside of the Moslem Shrine Center.
