Moslem Yacht Club - Metro Beach Rendezvous

Next Up ... Fabulous Farmington!

Get ready Farmington ... cause here comes The Shriners!

Founder's Festival Parade - July 17th, 2010

The City of Farmington was founded in 1824 by Arthur Power. Like many Oakland County pioneers, he hailed from the state of New York. Power was a Quaker, as were the settlers who joined him, and the town was first known as Quakertown. In 1826, the name Farmington was officially chosen because it was the name of Power's hometown: Farmington, New York.

The Founders Festival Parade is a weekend highlight, featuring all kinds of floats, cool cars and marching bands, and our own Moslem Shriners at their finest! This year’s parade theme is BEACH PARTY! Bring a blanket or lawn chair and be a part of the cheering crowds as Moslem's Units and Clubs eagerly join in on entertaining the masses. All Moslem parading Units and Clubs should plan on arriving at the staging area no later than 9:00am.

If you've never experienced seeing our Detroit Area Shriners on parade, this summer is full of opportunities to catch us in action in a city near you. Watch this site throughout the summer for our parade appearance schedule, then slap on some sunscreen, load mamma and the kids into the car, and come on out and watch us do our stuff! Treat your family to an American tradition as old as standing in line at the ice cream shop in summer. A good old home town parade complete with the guys in the tiny cars and distinctive red hats ... the guys they call "The Shriners!"

Next Stop ... The Wyandotte Parade!

Get ready Wyandotte ... cause here comes The Shriners!

Wyandotte Independence Day Parade - July 3rd, 2010

Incorporated in 1867, the City of Wyandotte is often described as the ‘Heart of Downriver.’ The site where Wyandotte sits today was, in the 1700s, a village for the Native American tribe known as the Wyandot, a part of the Huron Nation. Nestled on the banks of the Detroit River, and literally 'down river' and south of Detroit, residents enjoy a front row seat for watching the mighty Great Lakes freighters and ships from all over the world as they ply this potion of the greater St Lawrence seaway.

With their downtown district all shined up and ready for their Independence Day celebration, likewise our Detroit Area Shriners have their equipment shined up and ready to participate in one of Moslem's favorite parade season stops. The parade this year will be heading south on Biddle Ave from Northline Rd (Ford Ave), to it's end at Eureka Rd. Staging will be on the northeast corner of Biddle and Ford Ave. All Moslem parading Units and Clubs should plan on arriving at the staging area no later than 9:00am.
